Rejoicing in Trials ♥ (Dale's Legacy)

Guys, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for not posting the past two days. First of all, I had church. Secondly, internship went all day and then I had band practice. It was super, super busy. And then when I finally had a free day to catch up on this, I heard some tragic news. A friend of mine was shot and killed walking across the street to bible study. He was walking with two friends and died a martyr. As he lay on the ground wounded, he prayed for the forgiveness of his shooters. I miss him, so much. But I know he's partying with Jesus, and his legacy will live on. His death won't be in vain. I'm going to win more souls for the kingdom. So, in place of the last two days of internship for right now(which were amazing by the way), I'm going to share a poem I wrote about Dale. I hope that's okay. (Not that anyone is really reading this, but hey, you never know).

It's hard to believe that you're gone,
It seems life is a day that doesn't last for long.
As I sit here and remember the life you lead,
I'm ever so proud to have called you friend.
Dale loved God with everything inside,
And his passion for the lost was something he couldn't hide.
Though we can't understand why,
As we weep and find it hard to say goodbye,
What satan meant for evil, God will turn around for good
We will win this city, I know that we could.
Dale was a great man of God, and gave people hope
If someone was cold, he would of given his coat.
Even in his death, lessons were taught
Life is short and there are battles to be fought
Against the rulers of darkness and hell,
We've got a mission and many to tell
About the love of God and the price that was paid
For our souls, it's the one thing that will never fade.
Lets not let Dale's passing be in vain,
Lets be inspired and spread God's fame.
We'll share this message until it's time
To see Dale and Jesus, and party on the other side.
